Ensemble Arabo-Andalouse
We’re pleased to invite you to join our ensemble, where Arabo-Andalusian music takes center stage—a centuries-old tradition full of depth and beauty. Whether you play the oud, qanun, violin, cello, flute, percussion, or another instrument, you’re more than welcome to join us!
Arabo-Andalusian music is a cultural heritage born from the fusion of Arab and Andalusian musical traditions. It’s known for its captivating melodies, complex rhythms, and subtle harmonies, with each nouba offering a journey through time. By joining our ensemble, you’ll have the chance to explore this unique music while helping preserve and share this invaluable tradition.
Experience an immersive musical journey, where every instrument has its place and each musician can express their creativity. Together, we’ll create meaningful moments, driven by the depth and beauty of Arabo-Andalusian music.
In the next phase, an Arabo-Andalusian choir will join our ensemble at Muziekpublique, expanding the scope of this musical project.
Our esteemed Mohamed-Amine El Korchi, a disciple of the renowned Mohamed Briouel, will lead the ensemble. Mohamed-Amine has had the honor of performing with him at the prestigious Bozar venue.
Mohamed Amine El Korchi began his global qanun music education at Muziekpublique. He has studied under the greatest teachers of Arabic and Turkish music, including the Iraqi master Souhad Najem. In 2021, he graduated with distinction from the conservatory of Fes under the guidance of Mohamed Briouel, and in 2023, he received the honorary award with commendations from the jury at the conservatory of Rabat. He has already performed internationally with musicians such as Tristan Driessens and Robbe Kieckens and currently plays in the El Korchi Trio with his sister, Nawal, and the renowned percussionist Ahmed Khaili.
