Flamenco dance improvisation
In this course, Saïdjah Galo takes you into the world of flamenco dance and will focus on improvisation. You will learn various techniques which you can use to improvise at parties such as Bulerías and Tangos. You will also learn how to dance together – and improvise freely – with guitar and vocals. You will learn to understand the structure of choreographies so you can remember them better and enjoy them more consciously. Throughout the year, the students will meet several times with the students of flamenco voice and guitar to put the learned techniques into practice.
This course is meant for intermediate and advanced students.
Saïdjah Galo comes from a musical family and was initiated into the world of flamenco in childhood thanks to her mother who herself runs a dance school in Bergamo. After completing her secondary studies, she moved to Seville to further develop her passion by studying at the renowned academy “La fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco”. She specializes in the Sevillan school of dancing. In the years that followed, Saïdjah took lessons from various artists such as Andres Peña, Rafael Campallo, Manuel Betanzos, Pila Ogalla etc. She has taught in Ghent, Lille, Antwerp and is regularly invited for workshops abroad. With her classy sensuality, elegance and powerful expression, Saïdjah captures the essence of flamenco.
