Balkan Music Orchestra
The course
Nicolas Hauzeur invites you to meet once in a week to share and play the beautiful Balkan music in an orchestral way. All instruments are welcome in this project. The repertory will concern different regions of the Balkans and although we will create our own arrangements, the music will be interpreted regarding the specificity of each style.
Criteria to enroll
It is important that you know your own instrument well enough since the purpose of this course is to play together and to learn about the different Balkan styles. You also need to be able to read music and learn melodies by ear.
Nicolas Hauzeur (violin and arrangements) has been teaching and sharing his passion for the Balkans for the last 15 years at Muziekpublique. Furthermore, he originated an exchange network with numerous groups and artists from the Balkans, with whom he organizes residences and workshops in Belgium and abroad.
