Tango ensemble
the course
The tango course aims to understand and to browse through this musical genre in all its forms: traditional, contemporary, modern, and fusion. As well as working on its different rhythms: tango, waltz, milonga. We will work on an adapted repertoire specifically arranged for the instruments of the ensemble. In the repertoire, we will find music from renowned composers such as Astor Piazzolla, Osvaldo Pugliese, Horacio Salgan, Anibal Troilo, as well as composers and bands of today.
The main idea of the course is to create a dynamic and fun musical ensemble, with a variety of instrument and a musical complexity adapted to the musicians. The course will tackle the fundamental notions of tango music: melody, rhythm, counterpoint, typical orchestral styles, contemporary and modern tango ensembles. The analysis will focus directly on developing musicality and music interpretation.
