Flamenco Guitar
Flamenco guitar
Following the flamenco tradition, the classes will take place in groups. Students will be assigned to one of the groups according to their level of playing (from beginners to advanced level). Individual classes are also possible.
The students will learn different techniques (rasgueados, picado, pulgar, alzapua, arpegios, tremolo) and they will be familiarized with the different flamenco styles, such as Alegrias, Solea, Bulerias, Tangos, Fandangos de Huelva, Taranta, Granaina…
Throughout the programme, the students will be prepared to perform at the End of Season concert.
The most advanced guitarists will also learn how to do guitar accompaniment for flamenco singers, for which singers will join the classes.
Instrument: classical guitar with nylon strings, (video)recording device (smartphone, tablet, camera, …)
Music theory required? No. Music will be written out in tablatures.
OPTIONAL FLAMENCO HARMONY COURSE
For several years, Muziekpublique has offered flamenco guitar courses led by Antonio Segura, for students of various levels who wish to deepen their technique, repertoire, and understanding of flamenco art.
To enrich this educational offering and open up new musical perspectives, two optional modules will be available starting January 2026. One of these optional courses, Flamenco Harmony, will be taught by Antonio Segura, and the other, Soniquete, by José Luis Dominguez.
As a flamenco guitar student, you can enroll in one or both optional modules. It is also possible to register for one or both optional modules without attending the flamenco guitar course.
