Let’s walk in the woods, but better! Zoniënklanken is a route marked by intimate and exclusive concerts, surrounded by nature! Embark on a Sunday walk of 5, 10, 15 or 20km and discover on your path some music and artists of the world.
Raphaël Decock is a specialist of world songs, and more particularly of overtone singing. In this solo formula, he will sing Siberian tunes, accompanied by some instruments reminiscent of the steppes and the cold breeze.
Duo Nisia presents traditional pieces from Southern Italy. The authenticity and warmth of Emanuela Lodato’s voice, punctuated by her Italian percussion, is accompanied by Vincent Noiret’s double bass for a duet that revisits the lively tradition of Puglia.
Tister Ikomo, multi-instrumentist, professional dancer and choreographer, plays balafon, likembe (thumb piano), sings and plays percussion. Originally from Congo, he knows perfectly the Congolese rhythms, songs and traditional dances he interprets brilliantly. He will be accompanied by Mamadou Dramé, virtuoso of the kora, a typical harp from West Africa strongly linked to the tradition of the griots (travelling poets, musicians, and storytellers).
Mostafa Taleb is an Iranian kemenche (violin) player. He will be accompanied by Sharhriar Sharifpour, santur player (strings struck by small hammers), and Juliette Lacroix on cello. They will perform traditional Persian music and compositions inspired by these Iranian traditions.
To close the day, Nihil Obstat, a happy quintet of Balkan music, will invade the WaBo garden with their playful tunes and the brass sounds of their wind instruments!
