Aziliz Laudrin
Aziliz Laudrin is a Breton violinist raised on fest-noz and Breton bal traditions, equally at home in Irish folk and Balkan music. She plays with Digabestr, Barokistania, and Trafalgar, and has shared the stage with the legendary Breton collective Skolvan.
Kaspy N’dia
Kaspy N’dia Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kaspy N’dia stands out for his humanist songwriting, his singular vocal timbre, and influences drawn from every corner of the world. Like his music, Kaspy N’dia radiates a quiet, luminous simplicity, a striking contrast to the often difficult path faced by Congolese artists. Classically trained on guitar, kora, and more, N’dia also collaborates regularly with choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and the Eastman company.
Celmaca
Celmaca The final act to step into the musical forest is Celmaca. In Nahuatl, an indigenous language of Mexico, celmaca means “to bring joy to people.” Osvaldo Hernández Nápoles (strings, percussion, vocals) and Patricia Hernández-Van Cauwenberge (percussion, vocals) draw their inspiration from the traditions and rituals of Latin America, a powerful counterpoint to the relentless pace of the Western world.
Their songs are carried by a rich palette of string instruments and percussion, each with its own distinct voice, breathing life into ancestral traditions. You’ll hear echoes of Día de Muertos in Mexico, celebrated through music and festivity, and the spirit of mezcal — the ancient agave spirit said to soothe souls, loosen tongues, and coax even the shyest voices into song.
Tambora Internacional de Bruselas
Tambora Internacional de Bruselas In the garden of WaBo, the spotlight turns to Tambora Internacional de Bruselas, a collective born out of Muziekpublique’s Afro-Colombian ensemble music classes.
The group performs the repertoire of the Bailes Cantaos (Aires de Tambora and Aires de Bullerengue), a musical tradition rooted in Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Their sound is built around three core percussion instruments, llamador, tambora, and alegre (or currulao), joined by smaller percussion, a lead voice and layered choruses.
