Over the years, the Queimada has become THE must-attend event in our programme. A unique moment of togetherness around Galicia’s magical drink of the gods, the legendary Queimada. What’s in store: an evening where musicians and audience connect to the sound of A Contrabanda’s bagpipes.
To kick off this beautiful evening, our friends from Frisse Folk will guide you through the dance steps, before sweeping you into two exhilarating folk balls with Bellowing Bellows and Threo. Between the two sets, it’s time for the ritual: the preparation of the queimada, a moment of pure collective magic.
Bellowing Bellows
Bellowing Bellows The latest folk sensation: a diatonic accordion duo led by Lolita Pariaud and Jonathan De Neck. Their original compositions create a dialogue between bellows that clash, vibrate in unison, roar in the wind, seek each other out… and ultimately find one another. This vibrant ball promises whispered exchanges, head-spinning whirls, shared smiles, and that beautiful connection that makes the heart of traditional dance beat stronger.

Threo
Threo Threo reimagines traditional dance music with a decidedly contemporary approach. Paul James’s (Blowzabella) powerful melodies, Hilke Bauweraerts’s (Hidrae) groovy harmonies, and Thomas Hoste’s (Fyndus) driving rhythms create the perfect musical alchemy. The trio flows between contemplative acoustic textures and irresistible dance pulses, always leaving room for spontaneity and in-the-moment improvisation.
