The Queimada is the great folk ball classic in our program. Sharing the queimada, the magical drink, symbolizes the friendship between musicians and audience, accompanied by the Galician bagpipe group A Contrabanda. We’ll open the evening with a dance introduction by our partner Frisse Folk, followed by folk balls featuring two top-notch duos, Griff and Trio Loubelya.
Griff Trio is an eclectic trio that blends tradition and avant-garde. Voices and instruments merge into unique sounds, moving harmonies, and intriguing rhythms. With bagpipes, flute, and uilleann pipes, they take the audience on a musical journey through time and space.
Loubelya is a trio that breathes new life into traditional dance music. Their neofolk compositions combine accordion, saxophone, and double bass in a sound full of warmth, energy, and refinement. Between jazz, folk and world music they find their own voice with music that invites you to listen, dance and experience.
