Zoniënklanken is a day made of walks and music in the Soignes forest. Put on your walking boots and choose your route of either 5 or 10 km. Open your ears because you will find on your way talented musicians such as Melisa Galuzzo, Aboubakar Traoré, Guillaume Codutti, students from Muziekpublique’s flamenco course, Tuur Florizoone or Juliana Joseph who will play for you in the enchanting surrounding of the forest.
Melisa Galuzzo
Mélissa Galuzzo is an Argentine singer-songwriter. Performing solo with her guitar and bombo, she crafts her own songs, drawing inspiration from the diverse traditions and rhythms of Latin America, including Peruvian festejo, huayno, côco and candombe.
A curious and nomadic artist, she has immersed herself in the vibrant world of South American carnivals, traditional festivals and local communities throughout her travels. For years, she has been actively involved in sociocultural projects that empower women and marginalised groups in music and performance through workshops and concerts.
She has collaborated on various musical projects, including Cantautores en Vol, Projecte Retumba, the Havanera comparsa Agua de Río, and Somien les Pulgas.
Aboubakar Traoré Duo
Aboubakar Traoré, born in Bobo-Dioulasso, is a master of the kamélé n’goni and a singer with a rare and captivating voice. His music breathes new life into the Mandingue griot tradition, blending heritage with a modern touch. He pays tribute to the ancestors who shaped the history of Burkina Faso and Africa while giving voice to the everyday struggles of his people. Alongside percussionist Guillaume Codutti, he brings fresh energy to the traditional sounds of his homeland, delivering electrifying performances where the audience can’t help but smile and get carried away. His latest album, Sababu, has made waves on world music charts.
Los alumnos de los dos Antonios
Antonio Paz (vocals, cajón) and Antonio Segura (guitar) are key figures in the Brussels flamenco scene and have been teaching for years at the Muziekpublique Academy. With enthusiasm, they train a new generation of flamenco artists every week, alongside dancers Saïdjah Galo and Marisol Valderrama. In the garden of Wabo, a selection of students in vocals, guitar, and cajón takes us on a journey through the various palos of flamenco, creating an infectious atmosphere that invites us to dance along.
aCORDES!
In aCORDES, aerial acrobat Juliana Joseph and accordionist Tuur Florizoone create an intimate performance where dance and accordion blend in perfect harmony. As Tuur’s poetic melodies fill the air, Juliana soars and spins above. A show to experience with wide-open ears and eyes lifted to the sky.
