Line-Up Belgian Worldwide Music Night
Gaïsha
Experience the enchanting fusion of oriental and psychedelic grooves with a Brussels touch, led by the Belgian-Moroccan singer/rapper Aïcha Haskal. Her voice effortlessly shifts between Arabic melodies, parlando, and rap, creating a mesmerizing soundscape. Together with a talented ensemble of musicians, Gaïsha delivers a brilliant melting pot of styles, blending cultural influences into something truly unique.
NENA
Born on the banks of the Meuse in a family of Spanish political exiles, NENA brings her roots to life with her debut EP, LA RAÍZ (The Root). Through her music, you’ll smell the spices of a Spanish kitchen, feel the vibrant hues of southern walls, and hear the passionate debates of family dinners. Joined by Mohamed Dziri (guitar), Antoine Dawans (trumpet), Nicolas Puma (double bass), and Antoine Rotthier (drums/percussion), NENA offers an intense and joyful mix of new Latin sounds, folk and rumba flamenca.
Peixe e Limão
This Brussels-based trio, featuring two Italians and one Belgian, crafts poetic and sensitive tracks sung in multiple southern languages. Their debut album, SALTA, is a celebration of warmth and connection – the perfect antidote to a chilly January night.
Soledad Kalza & Sina Kienou
This extraordinary duo bridges diverse traditions, with Soledad Kalza drawing from gypsy music and jazz, and Sina Kienou, grandson of the Griot Chief of Burkina Faso, blending Mandinka music, rock, and improvisation. Their meeting at the 2019 Festival Salon Musique in Burkina Faso sparked an adventurous musical journey. Together, they offer a rich tapestry of rhythms, harmonies, and personal compositions, enriched with traditional and poetic influences in Dioula, Spanish, English, Romani, and French.
A collaboration between Belgian Worldwide Music Network, Belgium Booms, VI.BE, WBM, Conseil de la Musique, Sabam for Culture, Playright+, Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and AB.
