This evening is entirely devoted to a cappella singing.
Hella is an a cappella folk ensemble composed of singers Eline De Coninck, Kalinka Verschraegen, Lotte Pauwels and Ahanna Verschraegen, who perform traditional Dutch compositions and arrangements of traditional melodies. In their search for a unique and homogeneous harmony, Hella is inspired by Scandinavian sounds and by choral music. Let yourself be enchanted by these four female voices and their clear, warm and colourful melodies.

The Serbian group Rodjenice is named after the trio of goddesses who would determine the fate of newborn babies. It brings together three singers who met while studying ethnomusicology. In this trio, they put their research into practice and explore and breathe new life into the various vocal techniques of traditional singing in the former Yugoslavia. The group’s repertoire is based almost exclusively on songs from small rural towns in this region and is performed with the utmost vocal authenticity. The singers have also performed with other groups and artists, combining traditional music with more contemporary and experimental musical performances.
