During the weekend of March 24-26, we will completely immerse Muziekpublique in Old-Time music. This traditional music from America encloses a great variety and is the source of the country, bluegrass,…
During this weekend you can not only follow a two-day workshops during which you’ll learn all the tricks of the old time guitar, mandolin, vocals, banjo, violin and square dance and flat foot, but on Friday you will also receive a beautiful documentary about the legendary old time revival band, the Highwood Stringband, an initiation into the vocal traditions, followed by a sacred harp session. On Saturday the teachers of the internships play and there is an old time ball.
The days of these two-day courses consist of 2 parts: in the morning the trainees are taught per instrument group and in the afternoon ensembles are formed. The trainees can experience the pleasure of playing together. The registration does not include accommodation or meals. If you are looking for accommodation or if you want to offer someone a place to sleep during the weekend, you can contact marie@muziekpublique.be.
With the tickets for the stage you also have access to the activities/concerts that are organized on Friday and Saturday at Muziekpublique (Theater Molière).
