European Footprints (EF) is an association that raises public awareness of the footprints we leave behind by sharing positive stories about sustainable development. Sometimes these stories go hand in hand with music. This is why, they invited the Brussels Balkan Orchestra for a festive concert showcasing Eastern European sounds! A short presentation of their projects will precede the concert.
The Brussels Balkan Orchestra (BBO) was born in 2016 from the musical alchemy created by the violinist, teacher, and animator, Nicolas Hauzeur, who unifies around and transmits the Balkan repertoire he has been playing for many years in Belgium and abroad. The Ensemble gathers some twenty musicians infatuated with this lively, subtle, dancing but demanding music studied with the great masters of traditional Bulgarian, Romanian and Greek sounds. The Ensemble mainly performs gems of the popular Balkan repertoire gleaned during musical journeys with the aim of rendering delicate and sensual orchestral versions of these. The lively and elegant sounds that the BBO produces are made for dancing and for the deep exploration of different traditional cultures.
