In the first part of this evening, the Guitarpa Duo will present a representative repertoire of Venezuelan musical variety: merengue, waltz, joropo llanero and other traditional Latin American styles. Using instrumental virtuosity, this duo creates a real musical dialogue where sometimes the guitar, sometimes the harp pass the game of soloist to the accompaniment. They draw upon the melodic, harmonic and rhythmic resources of Venezuelan music.
Popular poets have the gift of describing History in the truest manner, armed with heart and sensitivity. Convinced of this power, Natalia Pérez y Cántaro offers us an inspired and very varied repertoire of the Argentine coast, as well as other regions and Latin America to relay her vision of this continent so rich and plentiful. She sings to pass on and make one feel the heaviness of the past, the lightness of a memory or the strength of an inheritance, with a rightness that one envies and with well-matched acolytes.
The Suena Barro duo, as much musicians as potters and luthiers, will continue the celebration in the foyer with their improvised music on their own instruments and inspired by various musical cultures of Latin America.
