On January 28, 2025, Muziekpublique won three awards at the Belgian Worldwide Music Awards. The jury, composed of Michaël Robberechts (VRT Radio 1), Lieve Boussauw (music photographer), Csilla Deak (Maison de la Création), and Rémi Planchenault (Belgian Independent Music Association), honored our Belgian organization specializing in traditional music with three distinctions:
- “Promising Talent” Category: The Belgian-Italian trio Peixe e Limão, who recently released their debut album SALTA! under Muziekpublique, impressed the jury with their original, multilingual compositions blending folk, classical, pop, and jazz.
- “Album” Category: Diboli by the group Tamala, signed under the Muziekpublique label, was awarded Best Album.
- “Best Press and Promotion Initiative” Category: The communication and promotion efforts for Hide & Seek Festival—a festival that brings traditional music to unique locations across Brussels—were recognized for their major contribution to the visibility and appreciation of the sector.
These Belgian Worldwide Music Awards, presented by key figures from the media and music industries, highlight Muziekpublique’s unique contribution to the Belgian cultural scene.
In 2025, Muziekpublique continues to showcase acoustic, folk, and world music with events such as the Living Room Music Winter Sessions—a series of 19 traditional music concerts held in 19 apartments across the 19 municipalities of Brussels from February 3 to March 23, 2025. A must-see event!
