Come and discover body percussion during this workshop by Leela Petronio!

Leela has developed her pedagogy around the defining influences of her career – jazz culture, tap dancing, hip hop dance, the STOMP show and body percussion. By emphasizing movement and musicality, she creates a musical, harmonious, and dynamic percussive dance. Being an international reference in the field, she offers a type of rhythm in movement, original and accessible, which uses the body as a whole.

In this workshop, you will learn to acquire the fundamental bases of body percussion, to explore and identify the multiple techniques and to experiment with different polyrhythms. You will put into practice various styles of body percussion (static approach, dance approach, use of space and rhythmic games) while measuring the impact of “rhythm work” on movement. You will deepen the relationship between space and orientations, exploring listening ability, the relationship to others and the fluidity of movement.
