It moves, it grooves and it rocks. “Li pedi” (the feet), the new album by the Nisia trio, is all about dancers, that part of humanity who cannot sit still when the music caresses their ears feet, ears and heart. Whether it is the driving pulse of a Sicilian tarantella, the tender sway of a mazurka, or the irresistible whirl of a circus circle, the album explores what this incredible and rich variety of dance music has in common.
Crossing from Sicily to Belgium on “piedi nudi”, the Nisia trio evokes the whole range of sensations, emotions, perfumes and memories that carry us along the dancing and sometimes stumbling journey of life. New compositions and arrangements of traditional pieces are intertwined to give an original and personal look, bridging our musical roots and our contemporary world.
