We are looking for an intern to support the music school and school workshops.
From September to June, the music school of Muziekpublique organizes about 50 music and dance classes. In addition to ud and balafon, you can take manouche guitar, tango violin or Brazilian percussion. You will be taught by top artists from the Brussels music scene who have been bitten by the teaching bug in addition to the stage.
Muziekpublique also organizes traditional music and dance workshops in elementary school in Brussels. For secondary schools, we are developing two performances: around the history of the Congolese rumba and our colonial past and with TriOrganico, which plays Latin American music on instruments from nature and addresses environment, climate and diversity.
What is expected of the intern:
- Coordinate school workshops: be a liaison between schools and teachers to keep everything on track, follow up calendar workshops …
- Follow up and apply for subsidies for schools
- Elaborating project school performances
- General support in the operation of the academy and Muziekpublique
Period: from mid-January to mid-May 2022 – duration of minimum 3 months, half-time
The internship can also be full-time, the other half of the time the intern will provide support for bookings of the groups of the Muziekpublique record label (in Flanders and the Netherlands)
