ESC Volunteer Call 2026

Join our team for a year
26 January 2026

Muziekpublique is looking for an ESC volunteer to join our label team

Based in France, Germany or elsewhere in Europe? Under 30 and keen to join our team for 6 months to a year? Our European Solidarity Corps placement could be the perfect fit.

We’re currently seeking a non-Belgian volunteer for a 6 to 12-month placement (ideally the full year). At Muziekpublique, you’ll become part of a small, tight-knit team at the heart of the world music scene. Day to day, you’ll work alongside people from a rich mix of backgrounds and cultures. This hands-on experience will see you involved in multiple areas: concert production, PR, communications and artist management.

The ESC programme (Erasmus+) covers your accommodation, travel, insurance and living costs.

About us

Muziekpublique is a Brussels-based non-profit dedicated to championing world music. Our focus: acoustic, traditional, folk, cross-cultural and “nu:trad” sounds. We operate across three main areas:

  • Around 100 concerts a year, plus three festivals (Living Room Music Festival, Firefly Sessions, Hide & Seek Festival)
  • Over 50 traditional world music courses
  • A record label handling album production, artist management and booking

The artists we work with carry forward musical traditions through authentic acoustic styles. Their instruments, rhythms and vocal techniques reflect this heritage. Some projects bridge cultures by bringing together musicians from different backgrounds within a single ensemble, while each artist retains their unique musical identity. Brussels’ vibrant urban scene makes these collaborations possible, thanks to the exceptional talent based here, including Peixe e Limão, Elias Bachoura and Tamala.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a European volunteer aged 20 to 30 with a genuine passion for world music. A background in cultural mediation, arts management, communications or the cultural sector is a plus. You’re motivated, eager to make a real contribution, and ready to commit for at least 6 months (preferably a full year). We need someone proactive, outgoing and adaptable, with strong spoken and written French or Dutch, plus a working knowledge of English.

What you’ll do

Working closely with the label coordinator, you’ll take charge of:

  • Label & recordings: developing label projects (album production, artist residencies) alongside the artistic director
  • Booking & tour coordination: reaching out to venues and event organisers, securing dates for our artists
  • Promotion & outreach: social media, press relations

Beyond these core responsibilities, you’ll experience full immersion in the music world. You’ll attend countless gigs and work side by side with the artists themselves.
