Born in San José, Costa Rica, Rosa Sánchez has spent many years travelling across Latin America . With guitar in hand, a powerful voice, and above all a deep joy in making music, she immersed herself in the sounds and traditions of the countries along the way After settling in Mexico, Son Jarocho and other Mexican musical traditions came into focus — genres that deeply resonated and continue to be explored and reinterpreted. As a folk singer and composer, each performance becomes a musical journey through Latin America, reflecting the continent’s rich diversity: from intimate, poetic songs to vibrant rhythms that invite dance. All of this is carried by a voice of striking presence — warm and husky, yet powerful — often evoking comparisons to the legendary Mercedes Sosa, a key reference for many listeners.
