Four female voices intertwine in warm, clear, and colorful harmonies. Hella is a fresh and vibrant a cappella quartet from Ghent. With their debut album Meeremin, they bring to life the power and vulnerability of the female voice. Inspired by women throughout history who have used their voices to be heard, Hella gives that legacy a contemporary resonance through their music.
Their sound bridges past and present, weaving together traditional and original compositions, Dutch-language arrangements, and poetic lyrics. The result is music that feels both timeless and new.
In January 2024, Hella was honored with the Flanders Folk Award for Most Promising Band, a testament to their unique sound and remarkable potential.
Join us for an evening with Hella and experience their voices: at times delicate and tender, at others bold and powerful, always with a deep appreciation for the beauty and expressiveness of the human voice.

Lydie Thonnard
After ten years of acclaimed collaborations in projects like Auster Loo and Les Chanteuses Anonymes, collaborations that have produced over ten albums, Lydie Thonnard is finally ready to step into the spotlight alone. For the first time, this artist who honed her craft at the Royal Conservatories of Liège and Brussels, learned from masters like Toon Fret, Philippe Laloy and Henri Tournier and explored traditional music from Ecuador to India, unveils her intimate universe with her solo project L’évidence des nuages (The Evidence of Clouds).
Armed with her flutes, voice, body percussion and foot bass, she presents a repertoire of original compositions. It’s a journey weaving together Western classical music, arrangements of traditional pieces (predominantly Belgian) and oral traditions from diverse cultures. On stage, she explores the connection between rhythm, body and voice, pouring out music that’s both poetic and danceable. A revelatory, sensitive and singular musical baring of the soul that transcends genres.
