The collaboration between Alasdair Fraser, Scottish violin icon, and the brilliant Californian cellist Natalie Haas covers a wide spectrum, between intimate chamber music and energetic ecstatic dance. Over the past twenty years, they have shined in concert halls around the world and have truly defined the rules of the game for violin and cello in traditional music. They continue to delight audiences with their virtuoso playing, almost telepathic communication and spontaneity.

Fraser, a multi-award winning violinist, is recognized as one of Scotland’s finest violinists. He notably played on the soundtracks of the films “The Last of the Mohicans” and “Titanic”. A graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, Haas is one of the most sought-after cellists in traditional music today. She has played and recorded with great names in the violin such as Mark O’Connor, Natalie MacMaster and the Irish Solas and Altan.

The duo’s debut recording, ‘Fire & Grace’, won the Scots Trad Music Award for ‘Album of the Year’, Scotland’s equivalent of the Grammy. Since then, the stunning duo have recorded five more critically acclaimed albums, which combine a deep understanding of Scottish tradition with a groundbreaking exploration of their worlds.
