The Bal & Basta is back for all folk ball lovers and starts the season with two duets: Vandenabeele-Knapen and Tanghe-Coudroy.

Despite a busy schedule, we are very happy that Wouter Vandenbeele and Jeroen Knapen have agreed to play for the opening of this new ball season. Closely associated to the folk scene, but always open to other horizons (Hiraeth, Tamala, The Chai Connection, etc.), these two great musicians return on the dance floor for our greatest happiness. As by magic, on guitar and violin, they take the audience into a delicate and energetic dance.

When Martin Coudroy (accordion) and Aurélien Tanghe (guitar) met for the first time in 2003, during a festival in Belgium, the music echoed until the end of the night. Since then, we often heard them play in concerts, at folk balls and other festivals around traditional music and dances. Their repertoire first finds a resonance in the Breton’s one, to which they are both very attached. After Martin’s stay in Sweden, the duo’s approach has changed to create a folk ball deeply influenced by Nordic culture, immersing us in an original universe. Over the course of the balls, the repertoire is pruned to keep only the main, the essential : the cadence, the movement and the pleasure in sharing !
