If the Val-Duchesse Domain has a political connotation, it’s not for nothing! Since the end of the Second World War, many meetings and political decisions, both national and European, have taken place there. It is in especially between these walls that the treaties giving birth to the European Economic Community (EEC) were born or that certain Belgian federal governments were formed. The estate is still managed by the Prime Minister’s office today, which opens up their doors to us for a concert in this both historically and architecturally exceptional place. If you can perceive the abbey dependance, which is more visible at the front of the estate, we nevertheless invite you to discover the castle itself, a bit hidden and all the more impressive.

It is in its famous Gothic room that we’ll invite you to come and listen to the young folk duo Siger. He offers instrumental music that is moving from the first note. The Ward brothers and Hartwin Dhoore create their own musical universe with the octave mandola and the diatonic accordion. The accompanying stories illustrate the music as a whole. With nearly 15 years of stage experience, they perform with humor and delicacy, and are not at their first attempt. Traveling across Europe, the United States and Canada, they have made a name for themselves with successful groups and projects such as Trio Dhoore, Estbel, The Flemish Folk Caravan. Their debut album Rodeland is a musical tribute to the Land of Rode, the beautiful region where they come from.
