The Diab Quintet is back, with a third opus. Based, as usual, on his own compositions, accordionist Jonathan De Neck and his accomplices have arranged an eclectic, hypnotizing and intense repertoire. We present you their new CD, « Huracán », a melodic whirlpool that combines the profound blue color of still waters and the bright red of the fire that arouses them.
The Diab Quintet came to life seven years ago, from the desire to have the chords of so-called classical music meet the more folk and world music diatonic accordion and percussions. Having made two albums, ‘Fourmilières’ in 2013 and ‘Seagull Tango’ in 2016, the group quickly gained stage maturity. Its leader, Jonathan De Neck, provides enchanting melodies and swinging rhythms that combine folk music, jazz, world music, classical music and improvisation. His compositions are enhanced by subtle arrangements that allow the personality of every musician to stand out.
