There was a time when bank notes were printed, by the thousands, in the center of Brussels, between the Cathedral and the Finance Tower. This was not so long ago, but the old National Bank printing-house has been practically forgotten. The printing-house space still exhibits its old technical aspect. We’re delighted to be able to organize, in this venue, a double concert by one of the most mythical Cuban ensembles: the Septeto Santiaguero.
Santiago de Cuba natives, the Septeto Santiaguero musicians, true to their renowned festive city, defend their island’s sound around the world. Popularized by the Buena Vista Social Club, this musical genre continues to captivate an ever-growing public. The Septeto Santiaguero excels in the different traditional Cuban musical varieties. It proposes a large range of swinging rhythms, such as the Guaracha, the Bolero, the traditional Trova, the Danzón, the Changüí and the Pilón. However, the group’s specialty remains its fresh and inspired interpretation of the Cuban sound, to which they sometimes give a Cumbia twist. Theirs is definitely a dancing music, brought about by excellent musicians, transmitting a positive, festive energy.
Please note that this event starts at 19:00.
Tickets on sale from Tuesday 12 July at 10.30 am!
