Born and raised in Ngala/Nyala in South Darfur, Ebo Krdum is a Sudanese-Swedish singer, multi-instrumentalist, actor and activist whose music is rooted in the various musical traditions of the sub-Saharan region. Very early on, he discovered that he could play the drum with his bare hands and entertained the inhabitants of his village. Aged only 13, he built his own guitar and learned to play it thanks to his father’s radio and the only black and white television in the village, where he could listen to artists such as Ali Farka Touré and Boubacar Traoré. Later, he developed his musical learning by learning how to play other instruments such as the gojo, the ngoni, the oud or the tambourine.
When war broke out in Darfur in 2003, Ebo became an important figure in the peaceful revolution against the corrupt and violent regime in Sudan. Since then, he has put his velvety voice to work in deep texts, talking about sensitive subjects and singing the tragedies and the sometimes very harsh truths that mark his existence. A courageous act that caused him many problems. Indeed, he had to flee his country of origin to take refuge in Sweden, where he has now become one of the most prominent figures on the world music scene.

Like his music, Kaspy N’dia emanates a simplicity that contrasts with the archetype of Congolese music artists. Quite traditional in his training (guitar, kora, etc.), N’dia is a popular musician with the star dancer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and his company Eastman.
