Los Cholos interpret traditional Andean-music from Peru: musica andina from the highlands and musica criolla from the coastal region. They play traditional music by anonymous composers but also new creations by folksingers and poets. They sing both in Spanish and Quechua. Their multi-facetted repertoire includes, among other things, waltzes, tonderos, panalivio and huaynos performed on charango, guitar, Andean wind instruments and Peruvian percussion.

Tlacuatzin is a group committed to the study and dissemination of one of the most beautiful and powerful genres of traditional music from Mexico: son huasteco, typical music from the Huasteca region. The group is led by Eloy Zúñiga Guinea, well known as the singer and guitarist of La Manta. He is a virtuoso of the jarana huasteca and is continually in search of vocal and instrumental refinement.

High falsetto-singing and extensive improvisation on the violin are the characteristic elements of son huasteco. The Spanish conquistadores introduced the violin into Mexico and the guitars are typical of the region. The music is therefore the result of a process of cultural mixing during the colonial period.
