Enara Navaira (Belgium)

@ The Brewer's House
Wednesday 19 August 2026 - 20h30
The Brewer's House - Grand-Place, 10 1000 Brussels
WED 19/08

Four Antwerp-based musicians, each rooted in a unique musical tradition, join forces in an innovative and daring collaboration. Their original compositions navigate the fine line between tradition and experimentation, pushing the boundaries of their respective styles and uncovering unexpected musical connections. Together, they blend sounds from worlds that, at first glance, seem light-years apart.

Transylvanian folk melodies intertwine with the raw energy of Tuvan throat singing and the haunting melancholy of the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle. Add to this the rich tones of a three-string viola, accompanied by an array of traditional wind instruments, all supported by the solid foundation of double bass and drums.

This project is a true musical odyssey, traversing diverse soundscapes where the rich heritage of folk traditions meets contemporary influences to create bold and adventurous new sounds. It’s music that surprises, delights, and breaks boundaries.

The Brewer’s House

Welcome to The Brewer’s House. Right on Brussels’ Grand-Place, this is where one of the oldest professional guilds in the world has held court since the Middle Ages. The building you see today dates back to 1698, rebuilt after the Grand-Place was bombarded by Louis XIV’s troops.

Beneath your feet, the gothic cellars keep the vats, kettles and tools of an 18th-century brewery exactly as they were. Above ground, the Brouwershuis café has all the warmth of an old-time inn: rows of vintage beer mugs, time-worn porcelain, and objects that have watched generations of beer lovers pass through. Three floors up, the Council Room opens its windows onto what the house itself doesn’t hesitate to call the finest view of the Grand-Place.

Baroque façades, gilded details, soft evening light: a UNESCO World Heritage backdrop and a very private window seat for your eyes to feast on. For one concert, Hide & Seek settles you into the most beautiful drawing room in Brussels. A Belgian beer in hand, Enara Navaira’s music in your ears, the Grand-Place before your eyes. It doesn’t get more Belgian, or more Brussels, than this.
