Jacques Stotzem

World-renowned and unclassifiable guitarist Jacques Stotzem breaks the rules of music with an effortlessly natural touch, redefining the boundaries of fingerstyle guitar with his soul. Depending on his mood, desires, and encounters, he explores blues, folk, jazz, rock, and sounds that invite journeys. His music is uniquely his own, yet it speaks to everyone!

Born in 1959 in Verviers, Belgium, Stotzem has recorded numerous albums and is considered a favorite among acoustic guitar enthusiasts. Experts and fellow guitarists admire not only his technical mastery but also his undeniable sense of hitting the perfect note at the right moment. His unique and highly refined style blends melodic sensibility, dynamic approach, deep harmonic knowledge, and virtuosity in service of the music.

His latest album, “Histoires sans mots,” was released in the fall of 2023. It features music where the guitar strings take the place of vocals, once again giving the guitar center stage to tell these “Stories Without Words.” This highly lyrical album radiates serenity, perhaps a touch of nostalgia, and reflects an endless joy in following a musical path that began long ago… “Guitar is life.”
