Bal & Basta, your Sunday folk ball, is back with an exquisite programme. The young Belgian duo Gestrikt is making its promising debut on the Brussels stage and will then be joined by the French trio Loubelya.

Duo Gestrikt is a young folk group that mixes its own music with traditional French and Flemish songs. The result is a playful and very danceable mix. The Duo consists of Benoit Verbeiren and Victor Schollaert. Benoit is a clarinettist and bagpiper. He is the winner of ‘Game of Drones 2021’. Victor is a diatonic accordionist but also a singer and pianist in other projects. Fresh and promising, the duo is sure to sweep you off your feet!

Trio Loubelya is a harmonious cocktail of original compositions, a touch of emotion, a dash of humour and a beautiful complicity. Join them for an energetic and intimate “trad’actuel” ball, combining with finesse the subtle breath of the accordion, the intoxicating timbre of the saxophone, the delirious clarinet and the bewitching depth of the double bass.
