During the Solo Challenge, eight musicians take on one of the greatest artistic challenges: playing solo with nothing to fall back on but yourself, your ideas and your instrument and/or voice. It is confronting and challenging: “Can I convince the audience all by myself?
Performing completely solo is a very honest way of making music but not easy. It forces you to be diverse, to maintain a tension. It is a way of giving your instrument or voice their full value. Moreover, you can make unexpected decisions, you do not have to take other musicians into account. And the silence suddenly becomes an important creative element.
And performing solo for a live stream is a real challenge, because you are all alone, without direct feedback from the audience.
