The accordionist Anne Niepold puts forward a highly personal vision of accordion music, far removed from the usual clichés and prejudice. Musette music – well, yes, but also contemporary compositions or popular pieces reinterpreted with verve and refinement. She will take the opportunity to talk about the traditions of our regions and will relate some of the experiences she has had with the instrument.
The Muziek-Culture project is putting on a series of free concert-encounters which throw the spotlight on an instrument or group of instruments, together with their country and their culture. In short, it’s an invitation to a voyage of discovery and adventure in a highly convivial ambiance in the heart of the Solbosch campus.
This collaboration allows us to promote the work that Muziekpublique has been carrying out since 2005 : concerts, courses and a label, all aimed at discovering and disseminating traditional music from around the world. It’s also an opportunity to pay due homage to the extremely rich collections held by PointCulture.
An initiative of Muziekpublique and PointCulture ULB Ixelles.
