It was in the cards that Didier Laloy, Bruno Letron’s student at 13 years of age, would one day perform with his former master. With both Tref (accompanied by Wim Claeys) and the Samurai (five of the top accordionists in Europe), they have both had the opportunity to prove themselves giants of the diatonic accordion. However, it is when they perform as a duo that they shine as a perfect and balanced team, elevating folk music to the peak of its art. Expect some traditional folk tunes, with a couple of surprises to boot.
Adding Snaarmaarwaar to the mix makes for an exceptional folk experience. This trio makes music enough for six, in acoustic mode, but with all the energy of electric. In a world where music is often formulaic, Snaarmaarwaar has its own unique style that turns each concert into a new adventure. Introverted yet explosive, gentle yet festive, the three musicians are led by Jeroen Geerinck and his energetic guitar rhythms, which give way to Maarten Decombel’s mandola and Ward Dhoore’s mandolin, for your dancing pleasure.
