Kora Days 2024

Bozar x Muziekpublique
17 February 2024

After a very successful first edition at Bozar, the Kora Days will return at the end of April 2024, this time in co-production between Bozar and Muziekpublique !

We open this festival around the iconic West African harp on Wednesday, April 24 at the Molière theater with Kora Symphony and a jam session! On Thursday we stay in Matonge for a double bill grand cru. The Senegalese-Belgian Tamala strengthens into a quartet with harmonica virtuoso Olivier Vander Bauweden before giving way to a special creation between two top musicians from Madagascar: Justin Vali (valiha and marovany) and Joel Rabesolo (guitar). As icing on the cake, none other than kora master Ballake Sissoko joins the duo. On Friday, we head to Reset for a DJ/electro night for an electro set by Ballake with Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch, followed by a dance night with DJ RebelUp. Gala concert on Saturday. Toumani Diabaté, one of the great ambassadors of the West African stringed instrument, graces Bozar with an exceptional concert accompanied by the Orchestre National de Lyon. On Sunday, we end a beauty with a family concert by Senny Camara.
