With a sigh of relief, Muziekpublique opened its doors again this month. We closed the season with a (completely sold out) musical firefly walk, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be lazing around in the summer.
This summer, the Merodefestival focuses on the 900th anniversary of the Norbertines and creates a delightful musical experience in and around the legacy of these friars. On Sunday 8 August, you can take part in a musical walk along the lanes laid down by the abbots. Muziekpublique will compile the musical programme for this. With the Celmaca duo (Mexico), Hamed Urmiye (Kurdistan) Tarek Al Sayed (Syria) and Jean-Bosco Isengo (Burundi) we are focusing on the rich diversity of Brussels. MORE INFO
On Sunday 22/08, you can explore old Huy with Celmaca Dúo, Raske Drenge, Edra, Hicham Bilali & Driss Filali and, finally, Euforró in the monastery des Frères Mineurs. This event is a collaboration between Muziekpublique and the Festival d’Art de Huy. MORE INFO
And of course Muziekpublique is organising the Hide & Seek festival again, from 22 to 28 August 2021. For one whole week you can enjoy traditional music from all over the world in emblematic and unusual places in Brussels. It shows our capital in all its beauty, openness and diversity. Keep an eye on our website for more information.
