Born in Algeria, composer, guitarist, singer, and adventurer of unusual lands, Pierre Bensusan is one of the world-renowned French musicians, as a solo artist but also through numerous collaborations with musicians such as Nana Vasconcellos, Larry Corryel or Bill Keith, to name a few. He also inspired many artists like Suzanne Vega or Steve Vai…
Before turning twenty, he conquered the musical scene with his fascinating way of playing. Starting from a mixture of Celtic music, linked to French traditions and his own work, he perfected the so-called DADGAD tuning, open and for guitar which, thanks to him, became a standard for accompaniment of folk music. Since then, he has continued to develop, research and innovate, as seen in his latest album Azwan. In addition to the elements of Celtic music and folk present in his work, he followed his musical exploration with improvisation, jazz or even Latin influences and traditional music from other regions of the world.
Seeing Pierre Bensusan at work is a magnificent musical experience. A true legend whose music is an intimate and orchestral anthem, a solo journey on his instrument.
