Muziekpublique, a non-profit organization that promotes and defends acoustic and traditional music from around the world, organizes its eighth edition of the Hide & Seek Festival. Active all year round within its three main parts, concerts – academy – label, it leaves its walls on the occasion of this festival to offer concerts in unusual and emblematic places in the Brussels Region.
The 2023 edition offers a balance between novelty and already seen places that have particularly appealed to the public in the past. It is with no surprise that the Blue Temple has been cited as one of the most surprising and emblematic places of the Festival. Balder, one of the lodges of the Grand Orient of Belgium once again opens the doors of this temple located rue de Laeken. Its starry sky, usually reserved for insiders, will certainly surprise you, as will the many signs to decode, well-known in Freemasonry culture.
The encounter between unusual places and music is at the heart of the Hide & Seek Festival. Sometimes obvious, sometimes totally incongruous, it is never random. What better place than the Blue Temple to welcome the Brussels trio and band from our label, Las Lloronas. Sura Solomon (BE/USA), Amber in ‘t Veld (ES/NL) and Marieke Werner (DE) started on the streets, bounding around their passion for sociology, activism and art. Their first album “Soaked”, carried by their intimate and multilingual feminist poetry, touched the hearts of thousands of people. Their performances are described as very original and their music has a timeless character: it sticks to the skin by being emotionally raw and captivating. Always accompanied by guitar, ukulele, accordion and clarinet, they offer a unique musical universe, far from society-set norms. In the heart of the Blue Temple, they will unveil, exclusively, songs from their future album “OUT OF THE BLUE”. Let yourself be carried away by their delicious polyphonic symbiosis under the starry sky of this unique setting.

The concert also takes place at 8.30pm.

The blue temple offers you to book a meal at the lodge’s restaurant for 25€/person. The restaurant welcomes you either for a service at 6:30 p.m. if you take part in the 8:30 p.m. concert, or at 8:30 p.m. if you take part in the 6:30 p.m. concert.

Suggested menu:
• vegetarian: Southern vegetables Millefeuille with cherry tomato coulis and arugula
• fish: Baked bass with its vierge sauce (lemon & olive oil) and vegetables juliennes.
• meat: Lamb with its rosemary sauce. Provençal vegetable tartlet and gratin.
To end your meal, you’ll be offered a “Chef’s special” for dessert.
