For several years, the Khusugtun ensemble has been influencing young generation musicians in Mongolia. This is particularly the case of the Mongolian metal group Hu who describes the ensemble as “a great source of inspiration”. The ensemble is undoubtedly marked by its nomadic essence and honors traditional instruments such as the morin khuur horse-head fiddle, the yatga zither or the Jew’s harp. Tradition holds an important place in the group’s DNA, as evidenced by their interpretation of the captivating overtone throat singing khöömii – a singing art inspired by nature allowing to emit several notes simultaneously and of which few artists master the technique. Rewarded by numerous prizes, Khusugtun is about to release a new album called Jangar, which will be presented during this concert. A total change of scenery and an immersion in the heart of Altaï await you.
